Nick Quest 3.2 is live!


Hello, friends! I have been hard at work in this newest update of Nick Quest in the hopes of giving this game a nice facelift and to really bring some quality-of-life changes to the game after a bit of research. A lot of hours have been poured into this and there's a laundry list of changes! I truly hope that you enjoy what this game has evolved into.


Here is the list of changes to the game:

-A new font has been added. This has resulted in some spacing that has been revised for bits of dialogue.

-Custom text boxes have been added

-Shortcut functions have been added. L1/Left Bumper/Q now open the Inventory submenu. R1/Right Bumper/W now open the Skills submenu.

-Enemy behavior has been altered to give more variety. In line with this, attack values have been adjusted on several enemies.

-Sumera and Arcatia have received visual upgrades

-The hit rate and damage of Executioner have been increased

-The counter rate associated with Taunt has been increased

-The player may now flee Hunts on the overworld.

-An error with Sap and Exhaust has been resolved. The duration is now 4 turns.

-The solo battles in the Halls of Reflection have had their difficulty reduced

-A NPC has been added to Sumera to explain doubling buffs and debuffs

-An error with the Void Crystal being removed in the Developer's Room has been adjusted

-The "Lord of Darkness" has been changed to "The Entity" for consistency purposes

-Elemental weaknesses have been revised for The Entity

-Certain enemies have been renamed and given a new graphic for variety

-The party event after defeating Skeleton is now a mandatory event in the story

-The attack power of the Caladbolg has been increased

-A bug with Schmidt's dialogue in Sumera was fixed

-The magic attack rating of the "Magic Ring" has been increased

-Party members will appear prior to certain boss fight events to help warn the player

-Certain events have had warnings prior to boss encounters

-The encounter rate in the mountains has been lowered

-The puzzles at the Water Temple have been adjusted

-The volume of some BGM tracks has been adjusted to be more consistent with other songs

-Shading in certain maps has been improved

-The end credits have been adjusted to note the additional resources used in the game


Friends, Nick Quest is now a game that surpasses my original vision. The game is approachable, with numerous balances and quality of life features added. I feel that the game in its current state is what it was always meant to be. It now gives a fun, yet challenging experience that has smoothed out most of the difficulty spikes (outside of the bonus dungeons of course) and tells its tale in a smoother, more consistent way.
